On the night of Thursday 8th/early morning of Friday 9th October 2009 a student from Northampton University was viciously assaulted by 6+ young men in an unprovoked attack. The assault happened inside the Roadmender where doormen were present, in front of security cameras. It will be a testament to the Roadmender if the culprits are quickly brought to justice.
The attack happened @ 2am on 09/10/09 and anyone with information should contact Northampton Police on 03000 111222.

ReplyDeleteThe police have evidence on one external camera. They are awaiting Roadmenders security tapes and to interview the 3 door-persons (2 men 1 x woman) who witnessed events. The police have also appealed for anyone with information to contact them on 03000 111222 xtn 5830 ref 20891.
If you attend the Roadmender this Thursday please co-operate with the authorities in finding these cowardly attackers. The club and town will be a safer place when they are securely behind bars.
ReplyDeleteOn a more positive note comments on safety at The Roadmender have been mixed. Historically it was felt to be a reasonably safe place, however, when local youths found Northampton University students had taken to attending the club on a Thursday night it attracted some undesirables simply looking for trouble.
